Director: Peter Herpst
Peter Herpst completed his Bachelor of Music Degree at the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Education Degree
from Antioch University . Influences include voice study with Tom Goleeke and William Eddy, and choral conducting with
Bruce Rodgers and Edward Hansen. Peter taught music in grades K – 12 in Alaska and Washington and now teaches special
education in the Fife School District . Singing in or directing choral music from an early age, Peter most recently
served as music coordinator and choral director at First United Methodist Church in Tacoma for nine years,
directed the Orpheus Male chorus for four years and for the last ten years has been choir director at Christ Episcopal
Church of Puyallup

History:
Doug Skelly and Ellen Malesis founded the South Sound Classical Choir on January 2, 2003.
The choir rapidly grew to 40 members the first year. It presently has 60 members and performs six to eight times a year.
